Okay, let’s talk about cruising with your girls — because if you haven’t done it yet, you are seriously missing out.
I get asked a lot whether a cruise is “worth it” compared to a normal group trip, and honestly, once you’ve done one, it’s hard to go back. There’s something about waking up in a new place every day or two, without ever having to pack a bag, book a transfer, or figure out where you’re eating dinner, that just makes everything easier. You unpack once, and the whole trip comes to you.
No stress, no surprises
One of my favourite things about a cruise is how much is taken care of before you even step on board. Your accommodation, most of your meals, the entertainment, getting from port to port — it’s all sorted. No group chat arguments about which restaurant to try, no one stuck organising taxis for six people. You know pretty much exactly what you’re getting and what it costs, which takes so much of the stress out of travelling with a group.
Safety and ease, especially travelling as women
There’s real comfort in cruising as a group of women. You’re never navigating an unfamiliar city alone at night trying to find your accommodation, and if someone in the group isn’t feeling 100%, there’s always somewhere safe and familiar to head back to. It just makes everyone relax a bit more and enjoy the trip.
The social side is half the fun
This is the bit people don’t always expect — how social a cruise actually is. Between the onboard activities, the shows, the pool deck, the shared dinner tables, you end up chatting with people from all over. And within your own group, there’s something about being together on a ship for days at a time that brings everyone closer. Long lunches, a cocktail (or three) watching the sunset, dancing badly to the onboard band — it’s the kind of fun that’s hard to recreate anywhere else.
New places without the hassle
You get to sample a handful of incredible destinations on one trip, without the exhausting bit of repacking, checking out, and travelling between them. Wake up somewhere new, explore for the day with your girls, and be back on the ship for dinner and drinks by the time you’re ready to put your feet up. It’s genuinely one of the easiest ways to see a lot of the world in a short amount of time.
It’s simply a great excuse to get away together
At the end of the day, a group cruise is just a brilliant reason to get your favourite people together, switch off from everything at home, and properly enjoy each other’s company. Whether it’s a milestone birthday, a “we haven’t caught up in far too long,” or just because you deserve it — a cruise takes all the hard planning off your hands so you can just show up and have fun.
If a group cruise sounds like exactly what you and your girls need right now, get in touch — I’d love to help you find the right one.
